Shipyard and Colonnade are great for Children.  As you take the path to the beach you'll pass the Crowne Plaza Resort.  The resort has a small children's playground, ponds with turtles and other wildlife and a number of children's programs.

Of course there are plenty of bike trails in Shipyard and the Van der Meer Shipyard Racquet Club.
